Working on this Disney Consumer Products x Harvey Bags project, I was tasked with designing characters for the Halloween Mickey and Friends collection. I had to do extensive research to ensure that I do not accidentally copy something that's already floating out there (pose, etc). The characters also need to interact with a prop, which presented a unique challenge—especially for Pluto, who lacked hands to hold one! To work around this, I incorporated prop into his mouth or had him react visually to them.

I was very pleased with the final output of the designs. The bags sold out within five minutes of hitting the market!

I got called back over the years to design a bunch of other stuff for them, including another projecct with Donald Duck as the main star. I tried my best to capture his famous temper tantrum. This illustration shows the progression of thoughts from initial sketch to improvements (red pencil) where poses are made more dynamic.
The final artwork.
